EOTAS, Tutoring and Mentoring for Children and Young Adults

Often children and young people need support from a trusted adult to help them adapt, overcome barriers, and build their resiliency. Freedom can offer a bespoke service to meet specific outcomes for the child or young person we are supporting. This is a great way to overcome anxieties and barriers created by additional needs, disabilities, mental health, Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) also referred to as ASD, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Our team will work with the young person and the adults around them to offer creative, real life solutions to encourage and support them through the change journey. Our services are available to young people up to the age of 25.

Our work will always be outcome focussed but move at the pace that is comfortable and appropriate. Examples of support might be accessing social opportunities in the community for a child with ASC (ASD) and anxiety. Initially the work will focus on building relationships, trust and understanding the individual’s worries, concerns, and barriers. Freedom Care Support team will then create a schedule of work that will incrementally lead to the desired outcomes.

The tutoring is generally delivered in the community and is targeted at children who are struggling with a traditional educational setting. Our tutors will create a bespoke way of delivering the curriculum that will be tolerated by the young person. We work with children with trauma, ASC, ADHD who need a gentle tailored approach. Learning that is based in the community and is largely delivered outside using Kinaesthetic methods,  multi-sensory approach, skills based and creating opportunities for learning in all aspects of life skills. With many children with Special educational needs, they have been traumatised by a system that wasn’t built for the way their brain works, 1:1 tutoring packages will work on developing a relationship first so we can lower anxiety and develop trust only then will the child be open to learning.

Our packages can have a mixture of mentoring hours, tutoring hours, and physical activity. We take time to understand how the individual child learns and work with their strengths.

Some steps are small, but they are the stepping stones to a joy of learning.

Our mentoring services for children and young adults are available in Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight.
